Grade I – Small Breast Enlargement

Accumulation of localized button tissue around the areola or area surrounding the nipple is defined as small breast enlargement. The small yet enlarged part of tissue comes in different color than the existing breast tissue and it is not easy to notice the condition with clothing on while a man is at this stage. Commonly, this condition can be treated with prescribed medication, dietary supplements and exercise recommendation and there is no need of performing surgery at this grade.

Grade II: Moderate Breast Enlargement

Moderate breast enlargement exceeds the boundaries and edges of areola indistinct from chest where the tissue of breast expands over pectoral muscle region as well. Often the moderate grade of gynecomastia is unnoticeable while one is wearing loose clothes. Estrogen level can be reduced by altering one’s diet with high foods but not as efficient as that of targeted supplementation. If the natural supplement fails, then instead of undergoing surgery, it is often recommended by experts to intake prescribed medications.

Grade III: Moderate Male Breast Enlargement

In this grade, moderate enlargement of breast exceeds the boundaries and edges of areola which are distinct from the excess skin of chest. Though the breast tissue is considered moderate, this is highly visible and is of high grade. When less invasive procedures and medication fail to treat the older men, experts recommend surgical procedures which are not recommended for teenagers.

Grade IV: Marked Male Breast Enlargement

In this grade type of breast enlargement, it is defined with feminization of breast due to excess skin. The grade type is highly feminine in appearance of breasts due to severity and highly visible. Usually at this grade of gynecomastia, whenever treatments fail, surgery is performed.
