What Causes Gynecomastia?

It typically occurs when there is a hormonal imbalance in the body. Men produce both the estrogen and testosterone hormones – the female and male hormones, respectively where the level and quantities are different from each other. When there is a decrease in the level of testosterone, the production of estrogen level increases and as a result breast tissue happens to develop. This hormonal imbalance onsets the trigger point for different factors. There are also number of drugs and medical conditions that are connected to Gynecomastia, such as anabolic steroid abuse and congenital disorders. Massive weight loss and age also plays a role in abnormal male breast development.

Treating male breast may seem easy, but it is not that an easy procedure to perform. Harley Body Clinic has been performing successful treatment which is individualized and varies from each patient’s duration, cause and severity and whether it causes discomfort or pain. The surgical procedure includes the following techniques and steps:

Anesthesia: Before undergoing the main surgery, the patient is given some medication to alleviate tension and anxiety and for total comfort during the entire surgical process. The whole procedure is performed under the administration of local anesthesia or sedation whichever is suitable for patient. Rarely any patient requires general anesthesia for the surgery.

Liposuction Technique: This is one of the surgery techniques for treating Gynecomastia patients. This technique removes excess fat from the chest area surrounding the tissue of breast by inserting a thin hollow tube, cannula, through small incisions. By the moving back and forth of cannula in a controlled motion, the fatty tissue breaks apart which is then aspirated out the body. This technique is used depending upon the type of treatment required and patient’s condition.

Excision Technique: This technique is recommended where the excess skin or glandular breast tissue must be eliminated to correct the enlarged male breasts. This skin excision technique is also used if the nipple (areola) needs to be repositioned or reduced to obtain a natural male contour position. The patterns of incisions may vary depending upon the patient’s surgical preferences and specific conditions which will be explained during consultation
